If you join the military are you then morally excused from whatever the

Government orders you to do? For example, Is saying "I only went to Iraq because the Government sent me there" morally excusable if your conscience tells you it was the wrong thing to do?

the answer is ismple, if you dont agree with war, then you dont go and join the army. in this day and age, anyone who joins will more than likely go to war and they are pretty naive if they dont think that it will happen.
30 odd years ago when there wasnt the conflict with eastern countries, they may have been forgiven as the only real 'enemy of the state' would have been the ira, and i guess that would have been seen as defending the shores, but now, the military is so active that we have more abroad than we do in our own country, so to use the excuse 'the government made me' is a pretty poor one and not one that i could see being easily accpeted by a lot of the country,

That's up to you and how you feel.

I only went to Desert Storm because I wanted to. And I wanted to serve my country. No Moral issues there
