Joining the military of out shape....any branch? Need advice.?

Can a 27year old female really out of shape (but "could get better...always have been a bad long distance runner, built more for short fast bursts), average weight, MILD asthma (only when cold out and running), starting to get mild joint pain on occasion ....can she join the military? Even if quite intelligent and smart? Would air force be best because less physical requirements?
