Navy Exchange in Pensacola,FL?

How is it? Is it big? Are there alot of good name brands? What are the hours? I Live on the MS Gulf Coast and our Exchange at Keesler was destroyed by the storm and hasn't been rebuilt yet. I will be in the area next week and wanted to go to it. Also how strict are they at the gate? I am not in the military but my father was so I have an ID, and i will have someone with me who does not have an ID. Will we be able to get in? We can at the base here but I'm jw about there.

The Exchange is decent. I think NEX has better stuff than AFFEES anyway. The prices aren't worth the drive as in any exhchange, you usually do better @ SAMS Club.

The P'cola Ex is off base, sort of, but they do have a gate and check IDs. A photo ID for your friend will work.

It is a decent sized BX. The hours are 0900-2000 M-Sat and Sunday 1000-1800. They have clothing and accessories in one building and toys/sports/electronics/furniture in another. It's the same brands you would find in any BX. The commissary is also nearby. There is a large "discount" warehouse that has markdown furniture not too far away. If you are with someone who does not have an ID card , you might have to get them a pass at the gate. They have been doing a 100% ID check (that's 100% for EVERYONE in the car) for awhile now...but honestly, they only check everyone about 50% of the time. Also, your friend will be unable to purchase anything at the BX since she is an unauthorized patron.

I also encourage you to vist the Naval Air Museum while you are there. it's awesome and free.
