| When running forced air airconditioning is it better to have ceiling fans on or off? I have a small 400 sq ft park model with a ceiling fan in the front room and one in the bedroom. I have central air conditioning coming from the heat vents. I can't figure out whether the fans are on upward air or downward air settings......      |

| If the AC comes from heat vents usually near the floor, and as cold air drops, it is best to run the fan to circulate the cold air, although not neccessarry. Turn the fan on high, and light a candle, match, or cigarette, and if the smoke goes up, the fan is pulling air up, if the smoke goes down, then you know what. |
