Homeless Veterans: John's Sleep Out Iowa City- 8 December 07

Of the 1,000 Homeless in Iowa City, 300 are Veterans from Vietnam
through the Global War on Terror

There will be a campout in the field at the corner of Waterfront Drive
and Southgate Ave on December 8th .

The event will be informative, adventuresome and fun.

Activities include a Soup Supper ($5 suggested donation), Musical
Entertainment, Special Guest and a Campfire.

HACAP will be open all night with warm restrooms, coffee, tea and
cookies.

If spending the night outside is not enough, pledges are encouraged
-Proceeds go to the Children's Initiative and the Homeless Children's
Trust.

Additionally donations of blankets are also being accepted.

*John was an Iowa City resident that died of hypothermia under a bridge
in 2004... it was his home

The Johnson County Local Homeless Coordinating Board has endorsed this
activity and it is the same night as Linn County's Event.
