Why train the Iraqi army when it just deserts and starts shooting at us?

I think we ought to kill as many terrorists in Iraq as we can and then get the hell out. Those people are never going to have a democracy.

do you know that the American government does not have complete control on Iraq's military? also why would the Iraqi army start to shoot at us? The Iraqi army needs to be trained so that it may one day protect and serve the "new" Iraq in the the Middle East. Although many having been deserting as you have said, they just do not have enough or satisfying amounts of supplies to the Iraqi army.
