| That $20,000 military sign on bonus, do the army reserves get it too for signing back up? My brother in law who has only served one year in Iraq 3 years ago said he will get the bonus if he signs back up for a few years. Is he right? or is there the stipulation that he also has to go back to Iraq?      |

| In the Reserves you get to pick which unit you want to serve with; so do some research and pick a non deployable Reserve unit. I got $15,000 for joining the Reserves.

| Normally it's up to the MOS (Military Occupational Specialty - job description) of the member. There are many stipulations..you might want to ask a recruiter for the real deal. |

| The military somehow gets ignorant people to stay in based on these so called amazingly large signing bonuses. Let's think about this. You're making 24k a year and you only get an extra 5k per year rounding you out at 28k a year, not that impressive compared to a civilian job!! |
