Hello Hello -

Certainly! I use an Olll filter frequently for pulling out details on dim nebulae. I find it difficult to even see the Veil Nebula without it. I have a few color filters that I use less frequently for planets, especially Jupiter and Mars. I have not attempted astrophotography, but I use the scope just for viewing all the time.

Hello! has a spectacular aura about
telescope buying help????

Hey are filters only used for photographing or can they be used for someone who just wants to use them to look at the planets and stars at different styles.

I am not interested in astro photography but can i still benefit from filters?

Like Larry, I use a nebula filter. I also have a Moon filter which is very useful; helps me retain my night vision. The colored filters that came with the scope are not useful to me. I've tried them on planets but they don't make much difference. I also suspect that they are probably only useful for photography.
