revolve. it would not be orbit because an orbit is a specific path an object circles around anthor object (usually due to gravity.) the act of revolving is just that. when an object circles around another object it revloles around it, the path that it revolves in, is its orbit. asteroids revolve around the sun as do comets and other large masses... planets!

The clue is in the question - "also ____ around the sun". So what do planets do around the sun? They orbit it (revolve is just another word for orbit).Planets (and asteroids) also rotate (spin on their axis) but that has nothing to do with motion around the sun.
