| Getting a job vs. going on holiday over summer?
Ok, so I am one of those people who plan far in advance...I am in my final year of high-school, and will be going to vet school next year.I've always planned on getting a full time job over the summer holidays before Uni (so I can save up FOR Uni) in December/Jan/Feb.However, now my dad got a job contract in Switzerland (I live with my mum) and he wanted me to go to University over there, but we decided it wouldn't be appropriate.. so I'm still going to University here. But he want's me to go over there over the summer holidays and get intensive french language lessons before I come back for Uni.It is a great opportunity, it will be a completely different experience, and if I go there I can attend the International Year of Astronomy opening ceremony in Paris as one of about 5) representitives for the country. Problem is, if I go over there I won't be earning money for Uni (spending it!)I really need to save, but I don't want to miss out on a good opportunity.ADICE PLEASE?Thanks

By all means, go on holiday over summer. See places you haven't seen yet, new interesting people, and as you said, learning a new language. All those things you cannot/never equate to say one thousand dollars. Grab it, while your dad is still there. And why not study there too? Switzerland is a very beautiful country, picture perfect! You won't regret it. P. S. And while you're there, Top Contributor, show us you pics while you're up there in the Alps, skiing !
