Why do some people say that when the hobet like people were around humans were not alon?? weren't they people

I know this isn't an astronomy question but I think most of the science people are here!? Sorry, but I want to know?? and Hobet people, I mean tiny people fossils found in some island in Indonesia only a meter tall ( about three feet and a bet?)

Modern day humans are homo sapiens and they evolved from other more primitive humanoids (homo erectus, habilus, etc).Several primitive human species (such as the Hobbit-like people you refer to) were living at nearly the same time, only one survived to become modern day humans.You should probably ask this in the Biology section to get a more precise answer.
