Some astronomy related questions...?

I need clarification for the following questions..#1) Does the Sund come directly overhead at noon?#2) Are meteors made visible by Earth's atmosphere?#3) What force helps create and build stars, and eventually causes them to die?#4) What are some factors that effect the brightness of a star seen from Earth?#5) In what cluster is the Milkey Way Galaxy located in?

Geek is right on all five. I have something to add about number one: Do you have daylight savings time where you live? Didn't you ever wonder if the sun was directly overhead at noon on standard time or daylight savings time or both?

#1 I would only add that the sun, reaching zenith at noon standard time, can only be directly overhead for observers between the Tropics of Cancer and Capricorn, and then depending on the season.Anywhere else on Earth, the sun will always be either South of or North of directly overhead.
