How much space is needed per person in a tent at an outdoor wedding? Is...

...there a formula? I'm planning to rent a tent for my outdoor wedding and was wondering if anyone has come across a formula for figuring out how large of a tent is needed for a specific number of people? The meal will not be taking place within the tent (it will be in a building a couple miles away), but the cake will be served and there will be dancing/music/etc in the tent. We're planning on renting a dance floor as well. Has anyone rented one of these dance floors before? How are they?

A tent rental company should be able to easily figure this out for you based upon the number of people who will be attending. They know how many tables, chairs, and space you will need. Check out the yellow pages.

Yes. When I looked into renting a tent, it was about 10 sqft pp for rectangular tables, 12 sqft pp for round tables, and then 3 sqft pp for a dance floor plus whatever you need for buffet and DJ and cake.
