| Help! Biology Question!?
If a carrier female for crystic fibrosis mates with a normal (homozygous dominant) what are the possible genetic outcomes of their offspring. That must be represented in a punnet square dominant allele with an F and the recessive allele with "f". MAke sure the difference between the allele is clearly written.) Ehat is the phenotypic ration of the offspring? What is the genotypic ratio of the offspring? What percentage of offspring will have cystic fibrosis? What percentage of offspring will be the carriers for the cystic fibrosis allele ?(*Hint : cystic fibrosis is a recessive autosomal disorder? Pleaas Help!

well if cystic fibrosis is the recessive gene then the outcomes are as follows: F: dominant (not cyctic fibrosis) f parents: female : Ff male: F- offspring: so you can have a female Ff, a carrier. A male f-, with the disorder, a female FF, without the disorder and not carrying, and a male F-, not a carrier and without the disease so the males have a 50% chance of being born with the disorder and the females have a 50% chance of being a carrier. so the ratio of being born with it is 25% and a carrier is 25% also. hope i helped |
