Is biochemistry similar to organic chemistry, or is it similar to biology?

... or both? What's your opinion/experience?
ETA: I'm not trying to become a biochemist. I'm just taking biochem I (not planning on taking the second half).

It is a hybrid science. You need a good background in both biology and chemistry if you want to become a biochemist.
