Biology: Human Systems Essay! NEED IDEAS!! how should I start?

Describe the structure and function of the mammalian kidney. Include a discussion of the regulation of water balance by kidney and hormonal interaction.

I don't know where to start this essay. Can anyone give me ideas for this essay? A quick outline maybe?

I would do a general pathway of the blood entering and traveling through a nephron in the kidney and what each of the parts are doing in terms of water/ions entering and leaving the tubules. Then go to on and talk about the hormones and how they are effecting the pathway explained earlier.
