| Form of allele that is expressed even when present with a contrasting allele?
If the said allele is dominant to the allele at the same locus on the homologous chromosome, then the dominant allele will be expressed. Recessive alleles are only expressed when both are present at the same locus on both homologous chromosomes (homozygous recessive). However, co-dominance can allow two alleles to act dominantely, where both traits that they code for are expressed. Another form is incomplete dominance, where an intermediate form of the two traits blended together is expressed.
