I'm looking for a book for young adults about buying wings and gluing them on?

I read it around 1991-1992.

A girl buys wings from the back of a catalogue or magazine. She glues them on, but then they can't come off. I think it ends with her flying away from her house and her life towards something new.

Any help would be great.
