what is a good theme statement or thematic statement for the book hoops by

Walter Dean Myers? i have some ideas but im stuck on it, i need to make a few theme statements so if i was given help with one it could set me off in the right direction thanks

anything about coping with loss, or trust, or coming into ones self would work...

Try something like: The theme 'coping with loss' is seen throughout Walter Dean Myers' novel Holes.
