Who are the most influential authors/writers of the 20th century?

My project is to basically answer the question of how an author has impacted history. I find 20th century the most interesting, so I think an author of that time period would be best.

I would bet that there has been more readers of and causal impact created by the countless minions on the internet in the 20th century. There has probably been more people reading (items on the net) than any other genre during any other time period (more people have been literate during the 20th century than at any other time), and it's probably had more effect on the popultation than anything outside of religious texts in the past.
