The Christian Bible was canonized in the 4th century at the behest of Constantine.

The Hebrew Bible was canonized about the same time, but had been in use for several hundred years prior to that time. Christians chose to include the Book of Revelations which is not found in the Hebrew Bible.

The books of the Christian bible became canonized by tradition of the early Church. All those books accepted by tradition were formally canonized by the Synod of Hippo in 393 AD.
