If you are writing in Gothic style, you stress the dark and foreboding aspects. Maybe a candle that is in the window one minute, gone the next. A woman in white who disappears. Thunder and lightning, Decaying walls. Strange sounds. Chills up and down your spine. Wooden door braced with rusty old iron. Gargoyles at the top that seem to watch you as you move. A tiny sliver of a crescent moon. Just keep thinking dark and foreboding. Halloween. That is what is Gothic style. Pax-C

There should be a wealth of information about. 'Gothic Style Castles.' on the Internet. Google the subject, read every item carefully, you will probably sense a feeling of gloom pervading the information, get into the mood, use your imagination. What would go through your mind if you had to to enter one of those places on a foggy night and you were all alone. You can do it.
