In the botany forum, it seems like every day there are questions asking about smoking, growing, or buying marijuana or using or finding psychedelic mushrooms. I know that these aren't illegal everywhere, but it sounds like most of the people asking these are from the USA. Somehow, I just don't see "What's the best light for growing marijuana indoors?""When should I start my marijuana seeds outdoors?" or "Where can I find magic mushrooms in (choose name of a state)?" as botany. Should these questions even be allowed? Most of the other questions are from kids looking for homework answers but if they look through other questions while they wait for people to post answers, they're getting a real "education".

People smoke pot and they do 'shrooms and they talk about it. Are they forcing anything on you? If you have kids, block Yahoo answers. If you find yourself annoyed/offended by the stuff in "botany," don't go there.

No, it should not be reported. Everyone likes to judge, but you don't have to keep focusing on those questions if it bothers you. Scroll down to the one's you are interested in. Despite being illegal, there is a huge percentage of Americans who smoke pot that you would never think would. It should not be illegal. It is safer than alcohol. Politics made it illegal. And for the questions, there is a huge amount of actual science that goes into those questions and anwsers that could relate to other species of plants and growth. Don't be so quick to turn someone in because they do not share the same view that you do.

No Butterfly it shouldn't. It is legal in some places, and you shouldn't impose your rules or morals on others, any more than they should impose theirs upon you. Live and let live. If yahoo think it breaks their rules their moderators will do their job very efficiently I'm sure. They could well be defined as legitimate botany questions.Anyway I wasn't aware that Yahoo Answers was rated for kids only. As I understand it's 13 upwards, and most kids of 13 probably already know more about marijuana that you and I together.

What you find interesting and what people who ask those questions find interesting are two very different things. I don't use those things and never will, but I also don't complain about questions asking about different curry or vegetable recipes. To each his own. Don't complain about them and they won't complain about silly cooking questions. Just block Y/A and go to another questions site if it bothers you that much.

Set your option at the left side of the page, near the bottom, to "US Questions Only". If the questions still remain, they are being posted from the US (supposedly). In that case, you may report them if you wish, since they are asking questions regarding an illegal substance on a site located in an area where the substance is actually illegal. From the CGs:"Members of Yahoo! Answers are not above the law, so don't post anything that violates the laws of your country, state, province, or city."http://answers.yahoo.com/info/community_guidelines.php
