essence has a spectacular aura about
botany HW,,,, pls help...?

1. can meristems make a plant immortal?explain

2. if differentiated cells couldnt become meristematic cells again, what would be the effect on the plant?

3. y do u think compounds that repel predators r located inside tiny hairs often found on leaves, rather than inside the leaves?

4. y do u think cells that transport food are living cells, while cells that transport water are dead and hollow?

5. y do u think that vessel elements didnt evolve aomong gymnosperms, w/c include the largest of plants?

6. explain y it is wrong to say that xylem is similar to human arteries & phloem is similar to human veins.

7. can a seed plant embryo be described as a miniature plant?explain

8. y do u think annuals(growing season) and perennials can both be found in the same environment?
adixnal q's..

1. y do u think few plants are parasites on one another?

2. y do u think some plants store carbohydrates in roots and shoots, while others do not

3. considering wat u know bout the conducting cells of xylem & phloem, y do u think xylem is found to the inside & the phloem outside in most vascular systems?

4. y do u think d arrangement of vascular tissue is different in roots and shoots of the same plant?

5. if the CO concentration in the air continues to increase, wat changes might u predict in the future evolution of plants?

6. some plants have very lil leaf development, relying mainly on the stems for photosynthesis. how would u explain this

7. think of a particular type of modified root, stem, or leaf.then describe some possible intermediate stages of mutations that might have led to that modification & y those mutations might have had selective value for that plant in its environment
the question in adixnal q's #5.. its not CO.. its suppose to be CO2 (carbon dioxide)
