Science – Botany: Do aquarium plants get parasitic, fungal, or bacterial

infections too? My live plants look like something is eating holes in them! It’s almost like as if some kind of bug was eating on them. Does anyone know what this could be caused from?
My plants are probably 2-4 weeks old. I bought them from a local pet store and I do think that it is likely that they could have already been infected when I got them. How do you treat plants for these kinds of infections? I also forgot to mention that I do have a Pleco. It does seem to feed on them, but it's hard for me to tell if it's eating on them or just cleaning something off of them.
