Why does Southern Illinois have a high Cancer Rate ? Or does it just seem this way ?

Why does Southern Illinois have a high Cancer Rate ? Or does it just seem this way ?

I have met a lot of families dealing with this disease . I have also lost a loved one to this disease . I am not from Southern il, but I live here and have seen a lot of sickness . I have researched the water and other things and the water quality is a low score on Sterling's Site .
