POLL: If you discovered you had the Big C, (cancer), would you opt to... ...take chemo, cobalt, radium? Knowing that the treatments will make you extremely ill and it might be worse than the cancer itself, with the pain and nausea. Would it be worth it to you? To be able live a few more months in severe agony. Or do you think that Quality of Life is more IMPORTANT than Quantity?

I actually know someone that is going through chemotherapy right now for cancer. She takes chemo everyday now and it is making her really sick. I believe that she is going to die regardless of whatever treatment she recieves. She is in the last stages of cancer and hospice visits her everyday so its only a matter of time. I " think " I would want to go naturally but with pain medications. I think this chemo and other stuff is experimental and they treat you like labrats. I prefer natural way. That would be the most difficult decision in the world when you are already so sick that you can barely make the decision of what you want to eat. I hope I could make the decision to go naturally.

I would be a natural fanatic about it doing everything possible the natural way, I might resort to radiation as a last chance cure. Maybe go to Brazil and have one of those holistic healers operate with a pen knife and their fingers before radiation.....

It would depend upon what the odds are in the treatment. FOr instance, my Dad had non-Hodgkins Lymphoma when he was 79. He successfully went into remission after undergoing chemo. My mom has beaten cancer 6 times (breast, bladder and colorectal) through surgery, radiation and chemo. But, at this point, if my Dad's cancer returns, we will not undergo treatment again. He has alzheimers and has very fragile health. He's also 86 years old. He is in an Alzheimers care unit at a nursing home, because he is a wandering risk. So, to me, the odds and the quality of life make all of the difference in the world.

I've had a good friend die from this and it was sheer hell for her.I never would go to the extremes she did.Quality of life is more important to me than doing everything you can to hang around in agony.I would go the route Suzanne Somers has with the natural type of treatment after the surgery.I wouldn't want to go through chemo,my friend went through hell and she died anyway after it came back for the fourth time.
