could this be cancer?

I have a redish patch on my ankle, it is not really a rash, and not a scar. I have an appointment with a dermotologist, but the earlyest appointment I could get is in 2 months from now. I had it for almost a year, but ti just recently started to itch/burn but not all the time. Also, I just noticed a little tiny red circle on my arm that is just like the patch on my ankle. Any one have any ideas on what it could be?

I showed my regular doctor and she told me to see a derm.as soon as possible.(but the soonest appt. I could get is in June) The mark on my ankle is about the size of an apple, it gets redder when heat is applied, the color and shape is uneven. I had it for a least a year and it never bother me until a few weekd ago.
The patch on my arm just appeared and is very small, about nickle size.
The patch on the ankle has been about the same size for a year, no discharge or cuts or anything. It has a dry look to it, but putting lotion on it did not help.
