one of my closest friend's mother has been diagonosed with terminal cancer...?

My friend is in an extremely brave person, and has only told a handful of people. She also doesn't want to cause fuss, and shuts it away. I know she is upset a lot, and she is dealing with it.
However, how do I let her know I am here? Is there anything I can do during this time?
Her mum has about a year left, and we're about to sit out GCSES.
