Help! Libra woman in love with cancer man!?

I have been seeing a cancer man sporadically over 2 years. He seems interested and then I don't hear from him for 6 weeks. We each are raising 3 teenagers and our lives are busy, but I still feel like he could make more time for me. Intimacy seems to be taking forever and I am becoming impatient. I don't know what it is that draws me to him but I can't seem to walk away. Is this useless or worth waiting for? We share so much in common and always laugh together. I enjoy his company and don't know how to move it forward.
