my friend who's a cancer and giving advice?

i read that cancers don't like getting advice, good or bad, so what do I do when my friend (who's a cancer) asks me for advice as he often does?

I would just give them advice that they asked for anyway. What you read about them not liking it could just mean that they don't like to hear it, but feel they need it.
