OlGrizz has a spectacular aura about
My Wife was diagnosed with midline maxilary cancer...?

The visible tumor ranges the front of her upper gum above the front 6 teeth and back to the hard palate. The biopsy was positive for squamous cell carcinoma i believe is what was said and the CT Scans show it is in the bone... We will be meeting with a surgeon on thursday...
Little back ground. She is 32 as of yesterday and is a non smoker and very light drinker.
From the description so far we have been told they will do a cast of her teeth then removing all of the bone from canine to canine including the bone that supports the upper lip and nose the upper gingiva and hard palete. At the same time they will take a bone graft from her leg and put it in place of the bone in her upper jaw.
From there she will have to have some form of radiation or chemo therapy.. we still haven't been given any time frames for recovery or the like. Has anyone else ben through this that can shed some light on what we are looking at? We have 3 yooung children and she is a stay at home mom.
