| Dermatoligist appointment tomorrow, checking for skin cancer.? I've found a few markings on my skin, and I just need some reassurance. The first "growth" I noticed was on my thigh, first showed up around, at least, early September, passed it off as a scab. A few weeks ago I found another on my butt cheek, again thought it was just a scratched pimple or something. Recently I've noticed another marking, similar to the other two, on my hip/torso area. I'm really frightened. Anyone who can relate would be appreciated. Also, am I going to have to show him all the markings? Because I really don't wanna have to show him the one on my butt for obvious reasons. To describe the markings, they're like scratchy, scabbish, extremely dry skin in one little area. I have a pink mole on my back that has been there since I was young young, like I don't even remember young, so I think it's unrelated. I'm 14 btw. Now that I'm more relaxed, I realize there are plenty of other skin coditions it could be that cause these markings. Still, I can't help but be nervous. |

| Understand the person you will be seeing is a doctor of medicine that has specialized in dermatology. I would advise making sure you show him/her all the spots. If you feel the need you can ask for a nurse to be present. If it is cancer, there are many new treatments and they are effective. The thing is, it is placed in remission but never cured. Do not miss any followup appointments and test after the treatment. Consult with a dietician about the proper diet for aiding in the control. It may not be food you like right now, but can get used to it. There are several other skin maladies that exist so think positive. |
