What are the Causes of Cancer? After my Mother passed away we found out she had Kidney Cancer. What causes Cancer? Oh my Mother also had alot of Health Problems. She passed away in 2006 from a Massive Stroke at the age of 45. She had Heart Problems also

Nobody knows what causes this to happen. Cancer specialists don't know, so nobody here will. Smoking has been linked to lung and some other cancers, and excessive sun exposure to skin cancers - but other than that we're still pretty much in the dark. Many people, invariably those who have not had or studied cancer, have a pet theory about what causes cancer. You will probably get answers telling you it's down to diet or lack of exercise or some other unproven thing. That's because it's easier for people who haven't had cancer to 'blame the victim' - to put an individual's cancer down to their lifestyle - rather than accept that it is a random, and still mysterious, disease that can strike any of us at any time I used to think my organic vegan diet, plus all the juicing and exercising I did, would protect me from cancer. It didn't. Nor did it cure me. So, the answer to your question is - nobody knows.

unfortunately, there is no single cause for all cancers. however, there are certain things that will increase your chances of getting cancer, for example, staying out in the sun repeatedly over long periods of time without sunscreen is known to increase your risk to get skin cancer. and smoking can increase your risk to get lung cancer, throat cancer, and esophogeal (sp?) cancer
