| Cervical cancer treatment with least effect on fertility?
I have been diagnosed with stage I cervical cancer and my doctor is recommending three treatments of chemotherapy. I am wondering if anyone knows the treatment for cervical cancer that has the LEAST chance of affecting future fertility. I'm only 21 years old, so as you can imagine I would almost rather leave it untreated than do something that will affect future chances of having children. I'm in the process of also getting a second opinion, but it sounds like the cancer itself is very treatable, it's just the post-effects that I'm concerned about. I've been reading that certain chemo drugs have less effect on fertility, and I'm also wondering what laser/freezing/LEEP treatments have. I would really appreciate options from anyone with knowledge in this matter. Thank you!! |

Just my personal opinion, but when diagnosed with cancer, my goal was which treatment is most effective at killing cancer, not which treatment has the easiest side effects. If you're dead, who cares if you're fertile? |
