I think i have cancer but i am not entierly sure what do i do ?

i have found a lump on my neck near my thyroid gland and i'm affaid its the thyroid cancer. Ive tryed telling my dad but he is not listening and telling me not to be stupid. Any suggestions on what i should do ?
