Could my best friend have CANCER?? please help!?

My best freind is worried that he might have cancer. He has been having terrible migraines, blurred vision, mood swings, feeling grumpy and irritable. He also feels unenthusiastic. He has a bruise near his kidney which he says looks like internal bleeding. He is going to have cancer tests done later in the week. He is 27 and has smoked since he was 15 or 16. He has also done many different kinds of drugs and was an addict but now has fortunantly recovered. He is my best friend and I want to know what to expect judging by his symptoms. If anyone has any information I would love to hear from you!! I really do need some positive thoughts.
