Fashion&passion has a spectacular aura about
i need a book about a young girl who has cancer/lukemia.?

I have a school project to do about a book Ive read. Later I have to make a trailer about the book (more like a movie trailer though). Now I have a really good idea for a trailer however, I dont have the book.
I need a book about a young girl (ages 10-16) who has leukemia (or any other cancer).
It would also be great if this girl likes to maybe write in a journal of her experence, or she likes to sing...she likes to do something to keep her spirit alive.
In the end, I dont care if the character lives or dies (lives would be more cheery but whatever you have is fine).
It can be either real or fictional. Please include the title and name of the author. Thank you so much. I really appreciate it!

i know exactly what you're talking about its called Sadako and the thousand paper cranes. its about a japense girl who had lukemia and she had to stay in the hospital while her family would visit her every so often. there was a legend that if she built 1000 paper cranes (origami) she would be cured, and so i guess she never made it to 1000 only like 800 but im pretty sure its exactly what you're talking about she had leukemia from the radiation of the bomb we dropped on Japan.

and its by eleanor coerr

A Time for Dancing.

I forget who wrote it, but it is from the perspective for two best friends. One who has cancer, and the other one who is dealing with her friend dying before her eyes.

VERY GOOD!!

There's this play called Paper Cranes, it's about this oriental girl who has leukemia and she keeps hope alive by making paper cranes to keep her hope alive. It's a great story and I believe it's a play as well so if you're looking for something creative to do with it you can either make a few cranes or put on the play for your class.

Good luck!
Lindsay
