Its not the meat its the chemicals they use to preserve it . Like the animals that are fed too many antibiotics and hormones to keep them growing and healthy.

Processed meats cause cancer...?

Is it just me or does everything cause cancer these days? We've had smoking, too much sun, too much alcohol and mobile phone radiation. What next?

Let's all live in a bubble shall we. Who's with me?

That'll be the one. My husband had terminal prostate cancer and although the doctors thought he only had 12-18 months to live when he was diagnosed, I kept him alive for 10 and a half years. He had a low cholesterol and eat lots of fresh oily fish and lots of vegetables. He did not die from bowel cancer but ate a cooked Scottish breakfast every morning for years. I grilled the bacon and fried the sausages, black pudding and egg in sunflower oil, so it was as healthy as it gets. This guy is talking rubbish. However, he is getting lots of money from whoever is sponsoring him, to say this load of rubbish. If you have a low cholesterol and you are eating a healthy diet you will flush all the impurities out of your body. Besides, 200 years ago, people got cancer, so what's his reason for that when they didn't have ANYTHING processed as they didn't know how to do it nor did they have the equipment. It is just lies.

We live longer than we should ........ cancer is natures way of telling us we should be dying at 50, not 80.

Having said that I fully expect to be annoying everyone on here for the next 50 years.

They said it was milk last year, then published a story on how good milk is for you. The thing we should be trying to do is reducing "emissions" from experts.

This isnt the first time research has shown meat causes cancer. People like meat too much - its too inconvenient for them to realise it might be bad. Its been well documented for many years that vegetarians are less likely to get cancer.

It took YEARS for people to accept that smoking was bad for them, some people still don't. Tobacco companies paid researchers to prove that smoking was good for you - you can manipulate statistics to do anything. Id watch where comeback studies saying the opposite are from and who it's funded by

We're all going to die, but I'd rather my death not be long and drawn out from cancer.

I dont eat meat for ethical reasons anyway, never been more glad!
