Psychiatry Career--slight inconsistency?

I'm thinking about being a psychiatrist, but I don't support all psychiatric theories. For instance, I don't think anorexia is necessarily a bad thing. I did research on fasting, which is basically not eating for long periods of time, and it's actually quite beneficial. I did it myself, and I lost weight and felt better. I also think that schizophrenics may actually be accessing another dimension, and people always tell me that I myself talk in tangents (although I really don't know where they're getting that from since I see the connection-they just don't). So, do you think I can still be a good psychiatrist? I don't think I'll ever change my mind about anorexia--I support it. Still, I'm interested in the mind, and I tend to be really empathic even though I appear neutral or overly calm for the most part.

If you really believe that "schizophrenics may actually be accessing another dimension" I think you ought to stay away from psychiatry as a career, no matter how interested you may think you are in the mind.

Actually, if you really do believe that, I'd suggest you see a psychiatrist yourself.
