Modeling as a Career?

I've been thinking about this for awhile. I kind of want to pursued modeling, but I'm not quite sure where to start or begin. I do feel and think I got what it takes to become a model..then again I don't. I'm a petite person who stands at 5"2. My friends had told me I should try out for petite or commercial modeling. Any suggestions would highly be appreciated! Thanks!!!

if your 5"2 it's unlikely you could be a model, you have to be 5"9 normally and about 100 pounds [about 7 stone] you need money to get started, perfect skin [no blemishes at all] so when you get all that thats the time to start modeling

but you could try onemodelplace.com any one can join it [sorry if I sound mean or blunt i just say things how they are]

the first person who answered was definitely right. it takes a lot of money to make comp cards. you need an agent who can tell you about castings. and really the most important part is location. if you aren't near a big city, there will not be many jobs for you.
