why do we need to study algebra, chemistry, physic during high school?

why do we need to study algebra, chemistry, physic during high school?

even we will not going to apply it to our daily lives. I mean those things that only scientists needs to learn and what is the matter if ordinary people don't know what is e=mc2(mass–energy equivalence)? do we say sodium chloride when we buy salt? I'm living without a wide knowledge about chemistry, physics and algebra. I don't have any regrets. I just let my teachers to be pity on me. then they will give me grades.
