According to reference Table N, which halogen will react spontaneously with Au(s) to produce Au 3+?
1. Br2
2. F2
3. I2
4. Cl2

explain it as well...

Au3+ will not be produced.
Au(3+) needs 3 x F(1-) in order to produce AuF3.
