| Ammoniumthioglycolate and Metalic Salts? I'm not asking this to cheat on homework like I've seen here too much. I happen to teach Cosmetology and love learning and understanding how things work on the molecular level. We know that mixing perm solution (Ammoniumthioglycolate) with metalic hair color (Sun-in, Grecian Formula etc) causes violent reactions. What I'd like to know is what actually happens between the substances to cause this reaction and undesired results. (loss of hair). The textbooks only glaze over the topic and I haven't been successful finding the information online or in my Chemistry textbooks.Thank you for your serious answers. |
