1. You are given a solution that contains Pb2+ and Ag+. What procedule would you use to seperate each ion?2.a solution contains potassium, iron (III) and magnesium. Wat procedues could you use to seperate the ions fron one another?

1. Ag+ is insoluble in any Cl- solution. Pb2+ is insolbule in a cold solution of Cl-. I would use warm HCl to drop out AgCl. Then I would take the decant and place it in an ice bath to drop the PbCl2.2. (NH4)3SCN will drop the ion as a red ppt of FeSCN. NH4OH, cold, will drop out Mg(OH)2. The decant has K+. It will not ppt out but can be confirmed by a violet flame (use Co glass to view).
