| Freezing point chemistry question!?
Freezing point depression is a collagitive property, and depends on the total conc of ions/molecules. Na3PO4 would be expected to totally ionize, so each molecule provides 4 ions, and 0.1 m would be 0.4 m in effect. IN A LIKE MANNER, 0.35 m NaCl would be 0.7 m in effect, 0.3 m MgCl2 would be 0.9 m in effect. Glucose does not ionize, and 0.05 m AcOH only ionizes to a small extent. So MgCl2 would be the most effective, AcOH the least effective, and the others placed according to their effective molality.
