How long do you date somebody before deciding whether or not you have chemistry?

I've been on a number of dates with this guy and he is really nice, smart, etc. Everything about him seems really great, but the problem is that I just don't feel that attracted to him. He seems to really like me though so I want to give him a chance, but how long do I keep dating him?

I know these are dumb questions without any real answers, but did anybody out there eventually start liking somebody even though there wasn't much chemistry at first? I think he would be really crushed if I didn't want to see him again, and I kind of wished that I like him because he really does seem like a one of a kind guy. I don't know why I'm not more excited to hang out or be with him though. It is kind of like I just don't feel a spark, but other then that he is great.
