| Chemistry Question! Am I correct?
In lab, we determined the pH of triethylamine to be 11.48. With this information I had to find the Experimental Kb and pKb. I came up with Kb=9.1e-5 and pKb=4.04. Using Merke's index, we had to find the pKa of triethylamine and it was 11.01. With that, we had to find the Kb and pKb. I came up with Kb=1.02e-3 and pKb=2.99. Does this mean that there was some sort of error in the experiment. Shouldn't my numbers be more similar to what I found in the Merke's Index?
