What mass of Cu(NO3)2 must be added to 1.00 kg H2O to prepare 97 ppm Cu2+ (aq)?

1.00 Kg water = 1.00 L
97 ppm means 97 mg/L
= 0.097 g/L
0.097 g/ 63.546 g/mol = 0.00153 moles Cu2+
=> moles Cu(NO3)2
mass Cu(NO3)2 = 0.00153 mol x 187.5 g/mol =0.287 g
