An unknown volume of water at 18.2°C is added to 25.7 mL water at 34.3°C. If the final temperature is 23.5°C, what was the unknown volume? (Assume that no heat is lost to the surroundings; d of water is 1.00 g/mL.)

5.3 x mass = 277.6
the mass of the water is 52.4 grams.

(23.5- 18.2) x mass = - ( 23.5 - 34.3 ) x 25.7 g
5.3 x mass = 277.56
mass water = 52.4 g
